Featuring: Interior Designer Gigi Harris--Kaizen Interiors

Last week found me working again with the talented Gigi Harris of Kaizen Interiors photographing the Alice in Wonderland inspired room she designed for a teenage client.
Look, here I am in the reflection of the cool lamp!

Somehow, her use of high contrast color with pops of red made the small room live so much larger.  She  maximized the small space with gorgeous custom cabinetry that she designed specifically for the room.  Not just beautiful on the outside with stunning moldings and details, it provide lots of workspace, storage and organization for her client.

If there is one thing that I've noticed while working for Gigi is her amazing use of details to bring her designs to life.  She never misses on layering in details and as I move around the room to photograph them, there's always a little surprise design element to take in.
State of the art lighting highlights gorgeous wall art by Eloise Lowry.

And the chairs!!  Gigi's custom design on the desk chair is wonderful and the white rabbit chair with it's ears and furry seat...inspiring!!

I can't imagine a more fun room for a teenager to come home to!

Featuring: Interior Designer Gigi Harris

Gigi and I met because she bid on and won a Be Beautiful session I donated to the San Clemente Junior Women's Club.  She wanted to use the session with her beautiful daughter Karly.  Photographing Karly and Gigi was wonderful because the closeness they share is palatable and they made it easy to capture.  Since then, not only have we done Gigi's business portrait (she's the incoming president of ASID Orange County) but we've gotten together to talk about our businesses and we've even gotten our daughters together for a playdate.  Last week I photographed one of Gigi's newly finished spaces--a beautiful room created as a study space.  Her use of color and texture in the room is stunning and I found myself yearning for a remodel of my own office space! Gigi used warm gray and distressed gray-washed furniture and finishes as a backdrop to custom upholstery and accessories in pops of vibrant citrus, chartreuse and slate blue.  Her mix of patterns in the room added interest on top of the fun and sophisticated color palette.  If you'd like to know more about Gigi and her work, you can find her at kaizeninteriors.com.
