The Crafty Photographer strikes again!

Not much of a sewing person, Taylor and I were going thru Pinterest picking out American Girl doll costumes (BIGGEST. TIME. SUCK. EVER!!!!) and as usual, my thought was, I can do that! (the owl costume we saw was done by an 11 year old--uh, an 11 year old?  I most certainly CAN do that!) So I did!!

Child's hula skirt from the party store, nipped in at waist with a few stiches.
I used a "fat quarter bundle" (for quilting) so all the patterns and colors went well together--felt for the mask
Taylor picked out a suede like material and I used it to also make a braid headband.

We've had lots of fun this weekend, dressing up her dolls and "taking" them to Halloween parties.  Still on my list is a black tutu and black hat for a witch costume.  But the owl is so cute, I thinking I want to be an owl for Halloween!  What are you going to be?
