On the road--New Mexico

This past week I checked off an item on the old bucket list: travel to New Mexico.  It's been on the list for some time; in fact during the drive from Albuquerque to Santa Fe I let my husband in on a little secret-if we were ever to move from the ocean, I dream of having a ranch in New Mexico, Montana or Wyoming.  I know, crazy, right?!

I've felt connected somehow to New Mexico forever. Perhaps it's my infatuation with photographers of the past: Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Paul Strand, Alfred Steglietz, Robert Frank and Lee Friedlander and of course painter Georgia O'Keeffe.  Their lives and relationships with photography and each other intrigue me. All came at some point in their careers and were inspired by the clear air, blue sky, vast landscape, dramatic monsoons. (I think  I miss monsoons the most from my days at the University of Arizona) So for my birthday this year, I choose a trip to New Mexico. Specifically, Santa Fe, with peripheral trips to Albuquerque and Taos.

Inspiration abounds in New Mexico and I can't wait to share my images with you soon!
