There are portrait sessions and then there are portrait sessions!! This session has been a year in the making and totally worth it!
I've known this beautiful woman for almost 20 years and last year, we started talking about a session with her and Romeo, her horse. I was so excited to finally be able to create the portraits that would tell the story of Karen and her special relationship with this gorgeous creature. We've been planning non stop: location hunting, developing a shoot plan and furiously exchanging texts and pictures of clothing options. I know Karen spent more time making Romeo look good than on herself, and yet she still looks amazing!
Working with animals can be challenging--being flexible is a definite requirement! Working with Romeo was just like working with a giant kid--he did all the things that little kids do--he drooled on my shirt, he was anxious when his mom got too far away and you could just tell when he was all done getting his picture taken. But all in all, he was just perfect. And so was Karen.
What a treat to share these with you!
